MP Taverna
We ate a new restaurant that just opened in Roslyn named MP Taverna (located at 1363 Old Northern Boulevard, Roslyn, N.Y.; (516) 686-6486). The MP stands for Michael Psilakis. It will be a hot restaurant for both the food and the bar scene. The menu offers traditional Greek dishes like meze, baked haloumi cheese, lamb shank and roasted lemon chicken. There are also grilled meats and fish, and whole baby spring lamb, for a party. A copy of the menu is below.
We started with the Octopus and trio of spreads. My wife had the Grilled Branzino and I had the Dumplings with a side of greek sausage. All of the food was great and reasonably priced. The Octopus and the Dumplings were our best choices.
The service was especially good. The manager and our waiter came over several times to see how things were as well as to make recommendations. I only hope that they can continue this level of service as they become so popular.
I loved this place from the decor to the food to the service. It is refreshing to find a restaurant that has all of these attributes. It is not uncommon on the North Shore for the popular restaurants to have the attitude that they are doing you a favor when you come to eat at their restaurant. I highly recommend this restaurant.
